Scam protection for you and your family
Scammers rush and frighten people. These simple tools help you slow down and check.
What it does
- Helps you agree a family code word, which helps protect against calls that fake a loved one’s voice.
- Keeps the real numbers to call on a card you can print for the fridge: 159 for your own bank and Report Fraud.
- Offers an “Is this a scam?” checker: paste in a message or letter and get a plain-English second opinion. Nothing you paste is kept.
- Follows the Stop, Challenge, Protect advice from Take Five to Stop Fraud, the UK’s national anti-fraud campaign.
How it works
- Agree your code wordChoose a word with your family, and keep it safe in DedSafe.
- Print your safety cardPut it by the phone or on the fridge, with the real numbers to call.
- Check before you actIf a message feels wrong, stop. Ask for the code word, or paste the message into the checker.
Good to know
- 159 connects you safely to most UK banks’ fraud teams. Report Fraud covers England, Wales and Northern Ireland; in Scotland, call Police Scotland on 101.
- The checker gives a second opinion, not a guarantee. If in doubt, don’t reply, and call someone you trust.
- Your bank will never ask you to move money to a “safe account”.
Which plans include it?
Included with Gold and Platinum. Plans start from £12 a month.

- Emergency CardIf you’re ever taken ill and can’t speak for yourself, this card helps the people helping you.
- Family TreeYour family’s story, built a little at a time and kept private, instead of on someone else’s website.
