Family Tree, kept safe in your own safe
Your family’s story, built a little at a time and kept private, instead of on someone else’s website.
What it does
- Walks you through adding parents, grandparents and beyond with gentle questions.
- Adds a photo, dates and a story to each person.
- Suggests which records should exist for each person, with links to free places to look: FreeBMD, FamilySearch, ScotlandsPeople, IrishGenealogy.ie and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
- Brings in a tree from another family history website (a GEDCOM file) and can save one out again.
- Shows birthdays and anniversaries of living relatives.
How it works

- Share it safelyShare a read-only copy with family. They can send you suggestions, but can’t change your tree.
Good to know
- Your tree is encrypted and saved inside your own safe, so it follows you to any device.
- Your Keyholders can see a read-only copy one day, if you choose.
- DedSafe isn’t linked to any records website and earns nothing from them. The links are simply signposts to free sources.
